Tim was willing to help me bright and early on a Saturday morning, as well as late in the evenings, and together not only did he help me understand how to apply, but also helped me write a well thought out personal statement. Tim took the time to explain writing and revising in ways I did not think about originally. He also guided me through multiple essay drafts until he thought it was a competitive statement. I am also grateful for Tim's never ending support throughout my test prep and essay writing, as he was always someone who believed in me. If I could, I would choose Tim again to help me with both the MCAT and personal statement.

Ming always gave very helpful tips and encouraged me each step of the way. Ming was always very responsive. I really appreciated her quick response times to any e-mail I sent her, whether about MCAT preparations or medical school admissions. Ming helped me tremendously with my personal statement and I credit her for getting me past a difficult hurdle in regards to the paragraph layout of my statement. I highly recommend Ming as an MCAT tutor and as a medical school application advisor as well."

Tim always had my questions answered in the portal before the tutoring session began and was very flexible with his appointment times. He has a great personality and is very easy to get along with! Tim helped me increase my score by 16 points since my previous attempt at the MCAT last year. He also tremendously helped me with my personal statement and other essays for my medical school applications. He gave me helpful advice of how to rearrange my personal statement and fixed several minor mistakes in each of my essays.Thank you, Tim!!

Ming has provided careful guidance for complex application-related concerns. Moreover, the outcome of everything for which I've sought Ming's advice or feedback has been favorable. Her guidance—ethically driven—enabled me to obtain multiple shadowing offers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her assistance with resume organization helped me secure a higher paying clinical position with my first-choice employer than the one for which I applied. More generally, Ming is an expert listener, which maximizes session productivity.

Theo goes above and beyond what you expect from an ordinary tutor. He is always well prepared and he adapts his teaching style into how I can learn the best. At all times he makes sure I am getting the most out of each session. Theo provides invaluable advice on the whole application process, especially with my personal statement and MCAT, and his guidance is key to my success!

  • Emily

    Emily

One of Theo’s best attributes is his selfless personality. He has always been willing to help and answer all of my questions regarding the MCAT, application, and personal statement. He is genuinely just trying to give back to the pre-med community rather than take your money. Often times when I am studying, I lose my motivation and think more pessimistically about my progress than I would like, however meeting with Theo regularly has given me the motivation to push harder and stay positive.

Zach was super helpful. I wasn’t sure how to connect my experiences together in a cohesive essay, and he really helped bring it all together. He also was a great extra set of eyes to catch grammar mistakes, and shape sentences better. I am so happy with the end product, and would definitely recommend him (or any of the tutors) for help with any part of your application. The MCAT self prep course was also THE best resource so use along with the Kaplan books. So user friendly, and a great guide to breakdown studying into chunks and make it seem less overwhelming.

Prior to my first tutoring session, I was a plastic bag floating in the wind, being blown in all directions. Marie helped ground me and gave me direction for my personal statement. For anyone struggling with their personal statements, I highly recommend getting yourself a tutor. It is a worthwhile investment.

If you are not sure which plan is right for you, simply request a free consultation with Andrew and he will point you in the right direction. He’s worked with hundreds of students and knows what you’ll need to achieve your goal in your unique situation.

What are sessions like?

Each Admissions Consulting session is an hour long and includes the following:
  •  Simple Communication. By sharing an Admissions Portal and Application Spreadsheet with your Admissions Consultant, everything can be seen and edited instantly. Some sessions also use video calls for better collaboration, idea generation, or interview prep.
  • Expert Advice. Our highly trained Admissions Consultants have combined to help hundreds of students with their applications, and each Admissions Consultant had a 97th percentile or higher MCAT score and multiple medical school acceptances from top programs.
  • Individualized Training. Since you set the agenda, you are in charge of what gets worked on each session with your Admissions Consultant. Whatever will be most helpful for you, your Admissions Consultant can review!

How do I start meeting with an Admissions Consultant?

To start meeting with your consultant, simply add Admissions Consulting to your cart, and complete the checkout process. Afterwards, you will receive an immediate confirmation email with detailed instructions for getting started.

After that, you can schedule a your first session at your convenience so that you can discuss your needs with one of our Elite Admissions Consultants in a one-on-one setting.

How often will I meet with my consultant? How does scheduling a session work?

The great thing about our program is that it offers you the flexibility to work at your own pace and on your own schedule. You do not need to meet with your consultant at the same time every week for a set number of weeks. You are able to choose any available consulting slot from your consultant’s calendar, whether that slot is two months from now or two days from now. You choose the time that works for you! Students love having this flexibility.

Is there any way to meet in person with my consultant?

All of our Admissions Consulting sessions are conducted online, and our students find this to be just as effective, if not more effective, than meeting in person. Students really enjoy the fact that they can visit with their tutor without having to ever leave their apartment!

What can be covered in one consulting session?

A single consulting session has enough time to review over 5,000 characters worth of essays, meaning that an entire Personal Statement could be reviewed in one session. A single session could also be used as a mock interview for a medical school or CASPer.

How does essay editing work?

For your personal statement, you can elect to make your first session focused on going through your life story to begin brainstorming the perfect essay. After drafting your essay, you will be able to walk through it with, and have it revised by your consultant. Every medical school applicant has multiple people reading their personal statements, and they often get conflicting information on how to improve their writing. Before submitting your AMCAS or AACOMAS application, it is important that your personal statement will have been thoroughly polished by an Admissions Consultant who has had direct experience working with top-notch candidates.

How does interview preparation work?

You will begin with a roughly 30-minute mock interview with your consultant. Your consultant provides feedback and suggestions for improvement and will follow up with tips about the interview process.  Your consultant will also examine your answers to questions, assess speaking style, possible nervous reactions, content of your answers based on your specific background, and get you comfortable with a variety of interview questions.

How do you help with building a list of schools?

Our Admissions Consultants have a deep knowledge of the wide range of medical schools and have years of experience using resources to gauge what it takes to earn acceptances at these schools. Your consultant will help you nail down your list(s) and create a game plan for applying to your safety schools vs. reach schools.
