More About Grace
Hi! I’m Grace and I’m so excited to help you achieve the MCAT score that will get you one step closer to that white coat. After a successful application cycle, I will be starting my first year of medical school in the fall. Over the past year, I have received 9 interview invites from US MD schools. I attribute much of this success to my MCAT score!
I knew that doing well on this test would be important to getting into medical school, so I approached my test prep strategically. By creating a schedule, honing in on my weaknesses, and tracking my progress, I was able to achieve a 98th percentile MCAT score. Using the MCAT Self Prep model, which incorporates these strategies and more, I am confident that you can do the same.
Outside of MCAT tutoring, I also have multiple years of experience as a teaching assistant both in group and one-on-one settings in general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and human physiology. Having worked with students of many different backgrounds, communication styles, and thought processes, I recognize the importance of adapting tutoring to each individual student. By working with you, I hope that we can not only adapt your MCAT prep to build on your strengths and compliment your weaknesses, but also to identify what those strengths and weaknesses are. Before each session, I will meticulously look through your Study Plan and Portal, where we can work together to hone in on any of your personal weak areas to perfect your content knowledge and test-taking strategy.
When I’m not tutoring, I work as a waitress and bartender at a ramen restaurant. Yes, ramen as in the 99 cent packages that we all ate in college, except much fancier and tastier. Being a waitress has helped me to utilize the skill of remembering multiple ideas at one time – something that you will learn to develop in dealing with several concepts at once as you do MCAT Self Prep’s practice passages.
In my free time, I love practicing yoga and am in the process of becoming a registered yoga teacher. As a yogi, I deeply understand the importance of taking care of your body and mind outside of academics so that you are performing at your best when grinding for the MCAT.
I can’t wait to be a part of your journey to your dream MCAT score!

“Before tutoring with Grace, I had studied a lot on my own but was unsure how to move to the next step. Not only did Grace make me feel incredibly comfortable but she very quickly adapted to my way of learning. I was hesitant to get into tutoring at first but after the first meeting I remember being super pleased to feel that not one minute had been wasted. I was happy that when topics were going smoothly and I was picking them up more quickly, Grace followed my pace and moved along with me. Same went for topics that just took me some time to understand, she slowed down and broke it down for me, making sure I followed her every step of the way. What I’m trying to say is that it felt very personalized and I had previously been worried that tutoring would be one size fits all, which has not worked for me in the past. The scheduling was incredibly flexible and allowed me to be tutored while I was in school with a crazy schedule and during the summer when I had more time. After learning strategies, I began to apply them while Grace helped analyze the way I did them. It was so helpful for picking up little details that made all the difference to understanding the passages and the questions. I honestly could not be happier with this experience and of course it serves me for the MCAT, but I feel that learning how to be diligent about how you read and interpret passages will be useful forever.”
“The one thing I regret was not getting a tutor earlier! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Grace Eddy, and she has helped me understand how you should approach the MCAT as well as strategies when reading passages. When I first met with Grace, we talked about anxiety and motivation, since I have been out of school for about 2 year now, and she has really helped me changed my mindset. She is always cheerful whenever we have a session and her attitude is just immaculate. The one thing I really like about Grace, is that she never made me feel like I did something wrong when I miss a week of studying and it’s so nice when she reassures me that life happens and to not be too hard on yourself. I highly recommend Grace. She is AMAZING!”
“Before starting my tutoring sessions, I really struggled with the CARS sections on the MCAT. I had trouble with understanding the passages which led me to have a tough time answering the questions in a timely manner. With having this problem, I decided to pick Grace as my tutor and with doing 5 sessions with her, I could see the vast improvements I made in my reading comprehension skills. Grace was really encouraging by always giving me a boost of confidence whenever we did practice questions. In addition, I liked how I was able to breakdown the passages on my own because this really helped me to see that I can do well on CARS. I have done many practice passages which I have seen improvement on when trying to understand the passages. I recommend Grace as a tutor because she is very uplifting person and every time we finished a session I felt more confident when doing CARS.”
“What sets Grace apart from other tutors is her skill as a communicator. Not only did she help me work through tough discrete problems in Biology, but she is also an easy going person, which made me feel comfortable and confident about my performance as a student. By taking practice problems one step at a time, she helped me to solidify my conceptual understanding and to identify mistakes I made in my approach. Thank you Grace! “
“Grace is an excellent MCAT tutor and she has been very helpful to my content review of MCAT prep. When I feel overwhelmed, she can draw pictures and explain concepts that I could understand. Every hour of studying with Grace helps me solidify my knowledge and gain a better understanding of concepts and enhance my overall test-taking strategies. Moreover, she provides the tools that I need to succeed on the MCAT and can answer my questions about general study tips. I am confident that her future students will be comfortable working with her. Her attitude is what makes the difference. Thank you, Grace! “
“Grace is a great tutor for anyone feeling overwhelmed with the material they need to learn. I was lucky to have Grace guide me through and help me understand general chemistry concepts alone, as well as in the context of each other and in passages. Also, she always has a positive attitude and has been really encouraging every step of the way. ”
“Let’s be honest, organic chemistry is a beast. I was so lucky to find a tutor like Grace to help me conquer the organic chemistry MCAT topics. Knowing that I was overwhelmed, she took things one step at a time, going over the facts I needed to know, and then applying those facts to practice problems. This approach worked well since the material is so detail-oriented to begin with. My experiences with Grace have left me with a strong understanding of a previously intimidating subject. I recommend her for anyone needing to strengthen their understanding of the sciences or answering practice problems. ”
“Physics was my achilles’ heel in both undergraduate and preparing for the MCAT. I felt as though the concepts are what trip a lot of people (myself included) up in succeeding in this subject. Grace was able to help me fully understand concepts including fluid dynamics and momentum, not just by breaking the concepts down, but by teaching with examples. Come test day, we have to apply our knowledge of these concepts to real world examples, and being taught in the context of those examples prepared me best. Additionally, Grace helped me prepare my medical school application by editing my work/activities section as well as my personal statement. ”
“Grace was invaluable to the content review section of my MCAT prep. She helped break down complex topics like carbohydrate metabolism, optics, and genetics into easily understandable chunks. I am so happy to have received a 520 on test day, and credit a lot of this to the studying I did with Grace. Beyond the MCAT, Grace helped me strengthen my application for medical school. From giving me tips on acing the CASPer to giving me practice medical school interviews, she has gone beyond MCAT prep in giving me the best chance of getting into medical school. ”
